Bali - Part 1 (Jimbaran)

Bali is the perfect place for any kind of traveler. Whether you are looking for a relaxing luxurious vacation; a spiritual yoga retreat; a trip to explore the culture or sightsee famous temples; or if you are a beach-goer/surfer, this is the place for you! Each town is different, so I would recommend staying at hotels that are near the activities that interest you the most.

JIMBARAN

I stayed at Rimba Jimbaran hotel, which is the sister hotel of Ayana Resort. Rimba is more inland, so the rooms have a jungle view, whereas Ayana is oceanside. Rimba has a stunning lobby along with seven swimming pools.

The nice thing about Rimba and Ayana resort being next to each other is that you have access to both hotels. A short ride to the neighboring hotel and I discovered another slice of paradise. Ayana has an infinity pool ("Ocean Beach pool") located near Rock Bar that has a beautiful beach view.

Take a stroll along the walkway by the beach for the most beautiful shades of blue and green. You can also check out some hidden pools through out the hotel like the River Pool. If you stay at Ayana, you should also definitely try the floating breakfast where they deliver your breakfast on a floating platter in your private plunge pool (something I will have to do the next time I go!).

Have the hotel shuttle take you to Kubu beach, Ayana's private beach, for more spectacular views.

End your day with cocktails at sunset at Ayana's famous Rock Bar, a bar right on the beach! If you are a guest of Rimba or Ayana, you get priority access into Rock Bar without having to wait in long lines if you are staying elsewhere.

Luxe tips

  • Enjoy the River pool and Ocean Beach Pool at Ayana; check out the seven pools at Rimba
  • Get the floating breakfast if you are staying at Ayana
  • Hang out at Rock Bar at sunset for drinks/appetizers
